A better-for-you snack mix that is slightly sweet and slightly spicy and will keep you coming back for more!
Makes 8 cups, 8 servings
¼ cup (50 mL) liquid egg whites (OR 1 egg white, slightly beaten, with water added to make ¼ cup – 50 mL)
2 Tablespoons (30 mL) sugar-free maple flavored syrup
12 packets Pure Via Turbinado Raw Cane sugar and stevia blend sweetener
½ teaspoon (2 mL) ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon (2 mL) cayenne pepper
3 cups (750 mL) lite popped popcorn
2- ½ cups (625 mL) rice squares cereal
2 cups (500 mL) mini pretzel twists
1- ½ cups (375 mL) lightly salted mixed nuts
Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray; set aside.

Combine egg white, syrup and Pure Via Turbinado Raw Cane sugar and stevia blend sweetener in small microwave safe container. Heat on HIGH 20 seconds. Remove and stir until Pure Via Turbinado Raw Cane sugar and stevia blend sweetener is dissolved. Stir in cinnamon and cayenne.
Place popcorn, cereal, pretzels and nuts in large mixing bowl. Pour egg white mixture over popcorn mixture. Stir until popcorn mixture is evenly coated.
Pour mixture onto prepared cookie sheet, spreading evenly. Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until popcorn is light golden. Remove to wire rack. Let stand 2 minutes. Carefully lift mixture with a spatula, and separate large pieces. Cool completely on cookie sheet. Store in airtight container at room temperature.
