Top a warm whole wheat pita bread with greens mixed with canned tuna, black beans, oranges and tossed in a tangy Italian based dressing.
Makes 4 servings
½ cup (125 mL) fat free Italian dressing
2 teaspoons (10 mL) Dijon mustard
7 packets Pure Via Turbinado Raw Cane sugar and stevia blend sweetener
2 packages (5 ounces – 140 g each) spring lettuce mix (OR 12 cups-3 L mixed greens)
1 can (5 ounces – 140 g) water packed white tuna, drained and flaked
1- ½ cups (375mL) canned salt free black beans, rinsed and drained
1- ½ cups (375mL) peeled orange sections (about 2 small oranges)
4 whole wheat pita bread, warmed
Combine dressing, mustard and Pure Via Turbinado Raw Cane sugar and stevia blend sweetener; set aside.
Nutritional information (per serving)
Combine lettuce, tuna, beans and oranges in large mixing bowl. Gently toss with dressing mixture until all ingredients are evenly coated.
Divide salad mixture evenly between 4 pita bread and serve.
