A great treat for weekday or weekend breakfast. Based on a baking mix, these are quick and easy to make with ingredients you’re sure to have on hand.
Makes 6 scones
1 cup (250 mL) heart smart buttermilk baking mix
½ cup (125 mL) uncooked old fashioned oats
½ cup (125 mL) nonfat milk
1/3 cup (75 mL) golden raisins
2 Tablespoons (30 mL) chopped pecans
9 packets Pure Via Turbinado Raw Cane sugar and stevia blend sweetener
2 Tablespoons (30 mL) butter, melted
¾ teaspoon (3 mL) maple flavored extract
½ teaspoon (2 mL) baking powder
¼ teaspoon (1 mL) ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray; set aside.

Combine all ingredients in medium bowl; mix well.
Portion dough into 6 mounds on prepared cookie sheet, using ¼ cup (50 mL) measure. Spread slightly to even out dough.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned at edges. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet. Remove to wire rack and cool slightly. Serve warm.
